I think about Yoga, and a smile comes to my face. I came into the world fascinated by spirituality and was blessed to have a parent that allowed me to nurture my curiosity. I remember seeing glimpses of Yoginis in practice as a child and knowing in my bones that it was “the good stuff." Much later, as I settled into adulthood in my 20’s, I found a paperback book with black and white pictures at a used bookstore, and started down the path of light, love, and acceptance.
Like many, Asana (yoga poses) was my first love, a welcome addition to an already active lifestyle, and then came breath and meditation. Today, due to a greater understanding of Yoga, I seek to practice the principles of the eight limbs of Yoga daily. I am grateful and proud of completing a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Mandala Moon Yoga School, and I am excited to begin offering Yoga in many different capacities to assist students in developing a more loving relationship with themselves and the world around us.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been a psychotherapist for over 10 years. A few years ago, I started thinking about becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher to enhance and supplement my therapeutic work. Transformatively, the deep study and practice of Yoga has helped me to accept myself as I age and my body goes through changes; has motivated a daily unification with my breath, my true self, and the collective consciousness; and is now an effective way to find peace and solace in the most difficult times. I also thoroughly enjoy the youthfulness and playfulness that Yoga offers. I am excited to cultivate my teaching practice while creating a safe, inclusive, spiritual, and joyful space for ALL people to find wellness in mind, body, and spirit.
